MARQUETTE, MI, May 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kevin L. Piggott, Medical Director of Community Health at the Marquette General Health System, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.

Inspired by the work of his physician father, Dr. Piggott has dedicated 25 years to the delivery of quality health care. Board certified in family medicine and preventive medicine, he currently serves as the medical director of community health at the Marquette General Health System. He works with hospital physicians and the quality management department to ensure optimal care is provided. He also works closely with health information management to assure clear documentation and accurate coding of the medical records.

The recipient of an MD from Wayne State University, Dr. Piggott also holds a Master of Public Health in health management and policy and a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Michigan. He retains memberships to a number of professional organizations, including the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians, the Michigan State Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and The American College of Preventive Medicine. Moreover, he provides his expertise as the medical director of the Marquette County Health Department and the Medical Care Access Coalition. Grateful for the guidance he has received from many of his colleagues, Dr. Piggott intends to grow with the Marquette General Health System as he continues to work for improved population health through organizational improvement in the delivery of health care.
