Larry E. Wolfe, MD named "Professional of the Year in Family Medicine"

KNOXVILLE, TN, January 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Larry E. Wolfe, MD, Staff Physician with Mountain Peoples Health Councils, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in family medicine.

Dr. Larry E. Wolfe is hereby recognized as Cambridge Publishing's "Professional of the Year in Family Medicine" for 2009. Demonstrating over 33 years of dedication to the medical field, Dr. Wolfe has special interests in metabolic syndromes, cardiopulmonary care and family medicine. Now in practice with Mountain Peoples Health Councils, Inc., he lends his expertise to the evaluation and treatment of patients.

Named "America's Top Family Doctor" by Consumers' Research Council of America for four consecutive years from 2006 to 2009, Dr. Wolfe holds an MD from the University of Tennessee. He completed a residency in family medicine at East Tennessee State University where he served as chief resident in Family Practice. He also completed a residency in psychiatry with the U.S. Navy. Today, Dr. Wolfe is an esteemed member of Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Pi Sigma, Phi Eta Sigma and Eta Sigma Phi. He contributes to various Indian organizations and schools and provides pro bono medical care to local homeless shelters.
