Mark W. Walton, DO celebrates four decades in osteopathic medicine

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, October 19, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mark W. Walton, DO, Physician with Expresscare Plus, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in family medicine.

Dr. Walton has an unprecedented 38 years of professional experience, 19 of which have been in his position with Expresscare Plus where he specializes in family medicine. Inspired by his father, a physician who aided countless patients, he made the decision to enter medical school. He considers having the ability to help patients in need to be the most fulfilling aspect of his career. Prior to joining Expresscare Plus, Walton led an impressive career in medicine and medical education, completing tenures at such prestigious institutions as the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Olympia Fields Osteopathic Medical Center and the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Additionally, he coordinated post-graduate osteopathic training for a number of New York hospitals from 1985 to 1987 including the Coney Island General Hospital, St. Claire's Hospital, Long Beach Memorial Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Peninsula General Hospital, Interfaith Hospital and the Brookdale Medical Center.

Dedication, exceptional training and a supportive family are just some of the driving forces behind Dr. Walton's success. Board certified in family practice, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and a bachelor's degree in pre-medical studies at the University of Illinois. Dr. Walton completed his internship at Cayuga Falls General Hospital. He is a member of the Colorado Medical Society, the El Paso County Medical Society, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
