Miami, FL, June 12, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marcus E.S. Mason, MD, President of Advanced Wound Care, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of Internal and Family Medicine
Dr. Marcus E.S. Mason has an impressive background in healthcare, specializing in wound care as well as internal, geriatric and family medicine. He notes that he became involved in his profession because he was inspired by his mother, father, uncle, and all educators who encouraged him to learn and help others. During his tenure as a medical student, resident and intern, he became exposed to geriatric medicine. With the realization that wound care in the geriatric population requires very specific medical assistance, Dr. Mason made the decision to establish his own firm in order to provide patients with a holistic and compassionate approach to medicine. A published author, he has written more than 20 scholarly articles that have appeared in world renowned medical journals. Most recently he authored 'BRCA1 and BRCA2 Effects on Breast-Ovarian Cancer Development,' 'Hypertension and African Americans,' 'Case Study of a Patient with a Chronic Lower Extremity Wound,' and 'A Case of Vanishing Bile Duct Syndrome.'
Familial support is the undisputed key to Dr. Mason's success. He opened Advanced Wound Care in 2007, an event that he considers to be his greatest professional accomplishment. He completed his fellowship in geriatric medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital-Miller School of Medicine of the University of Miami, his residency at Ochsner Medical Center and his MD at the Miller School of Medicine of the University of Miami. A certified wound care specialist, Dr. Mason was honored with Biltmore Who's Who Professional of the Year Award in 2008 and is a member of the American Association of Wound Care. He aspires to continue writing both medical and research articles and would like to expand his company to encompass other areas in the continental U.S., especially the southeast and Louisiana, where he completed his residency.
