/Family Medicine News Articles/ - Dover, NH, March 2, 2008, Dr. Elena Volozhanina, an internal medicine specialist at Primary Care of Dover and Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and distinction in all aspects of internal medicine.

As an internal medicine specialist for Primary Care of Dover and Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dr. Volozhanina is an expert internal medicine physician and excels at disease prevention. With 16 years in the medical field, she attributes her success to the support she receives from her family and her passion for her profession.

In 1992, the doctor earned a medical doctorate with honors from Perm State Medical Academy. Dr. Volozhanina was the chief resident at Moscow Medical Academy in Russia Medical Academy in Russia, where she completed her residency in neurology. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Volozhanina became involved in her profession because she wanted to become a doctor in order to help others. She looks forward to continued success in her current position.

Established on March 15, 1904, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital began as a 30-bed hospital when the Dover City Council accepted a trust of $100,000 from the late Arioch Wentworth for a hospital to be created in his name. The hospital opened on August 30, 1906. In 1982, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital became the first seacoast hospital to be designated as a trauma center and incorporated as a non-profit community hospital. Currently, it is a 178-bed facility.
